This policy explains how Mainland Steel Fencing (“we”, “us”) handles your personal information under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

What we collect

We only collect information you choose to give us, when you call, email, message us or use our quote form:

• your contact details, such as your name, email address, phone number and site address
• the messages you send us
• details for your quote, such as the fence length, the land and terrain, gates, height, colour, and any photos of your property you upload

How we use it

We use your information to:

• prepare and send your quote
• answer your questions and contact you about your project
• plan and carry out the work if you go ahead
• keep records we are required to keep, for example for tax

We don’t sell your information, and we don’t add you to a mailing list.

When we share it

We only disclose your personal information when the law requires it, or when you have authorised us to.

Our website is hosted by Netlify, and our quote form is processed by Netlify Forms. When you submit the form, your details and photos are stored by Netlify, which may be outside New Zealand, and then sent to us by email. Netlify handles this information on our behalf and doesn’t use it for its own purposes.

How we protect it

We take reasonable steps to keep your information safe from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. Only the people who need it to prepare your quote or do your job can see it. We keep it only as long as we need it, and then delete it.

Seeing or correcting your information

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it. Emailmainlandsteelfencing@gmail.com. We’ll reply as soon as we can, and within 20 working days.

If you’re not happy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to theOffice of the Privacy Commissioner.

Other websites and social media

Our website links to other sites, such as Facebook and WhatsApp. We aren’t responsible for how they handle your information, so please read their privacy policies. Anything you post on our Facebook page is public and handled under Facebook’s terms. If you message us on WhatsApp, your messages are handled under WhatsApp’s terms, and we use them the same way as any other enquiry.

Cookies

Our website doesn’t set any cookies, and we don’t use analytics or advertising trackers. Our host keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses, to run and secure the site.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date below shows when it last changed.
